How to Enjoy Your Wedding Day & Avoid Feeling Overwhelmed
If you have spoken to any recent bride, you have heard how difficult it can be to fully enjoy your wedding day. As problems arise and anxiety takes over, it can be hard to bask in the happy occasion. Today, we’re sharing tips on how to avoid getting overwhelmed so that you can make the most of your special day. We have high hopes of helping you better prepare, both in terms of logistics and mental stress!
Create a Timeline
A timeline is so incredibly important! Although it will help keep things on track, it will also help you and others be prepared. Correctly made and implemented, there are no excuses for people in your party to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Communicated to or shared with your vendors, they should be the same. A wedding day timeline will prevent you from having to come up with an itinerary on the fly, or having to wrangle people together. For help creating a timeline, check out our previous blog!
Delegate
It is so important that you delegate to people to help you on your wedding day, and before the actual day. During the dress rehearsal is the perfect time! Ask for volunteers to help direct vendors to their designated areas. Ask for someone to be the emergency contact in case a problem arises. This way, no one is coming up to you and creating stress or anxiety that may compromise your special day. People are there to help you, so let them!
Learn to “Let it Go”
We know what you’re thinking, ‘easier said than done’! It can be difficult to let things go, but we’re here to let you in on a little secret. No one notices the little things that you do, like the fact that the napkins weren’t folded properly, or that the buffet wasn’t set up precisely on time. In addition, lean on your partner for support during these stressful times! That is what they are there for. If you have communicated your worries beforehand, then they should be prepared to help you through them.
Take Charge
A common fear that hinders brides, is the title of ‘Bridezilla’. Although you should avoid being rude or dismissive to other’s opinions, you should not be afraid of being decisive. It is your day that you are paying for, and that you will live with for the rest of your life. The decisions that you make are what goes. Do not let a fear of people’s opinions, on any matter, sway your confidence.
