Spanning 25-acres, there is no shortage of photo opportunities at Pine Lake Ranch! Our rural venue is located in Montgomery Texas, just an hour away from Houston. This means that our couples can enjoy the best of entertainment and overnight accommodations, in addition to a completely private wedding day. Today, we’re sharing our essential outdoor wedding shot list, featuring all the must-visit photo spots throughout our event space.
The Ancient Live Oak
The most notable photo backdrop at our venue, the Ancient Live Oak is our primary ceremony space. This towering ancient tree is typically dripping in soft moss and decorated with string lights. It is a gorgeous spot for wedding portraits for the bride and groom, as well as for the wedding party and immediate family. However, for the best portraits, we recommend stopping back by once the sun has gone down! With a soft glow provided by the string lights and one of our crystal chandeliers, you’ll be able to take some ultra-romantic nighttime photos.
Sprawling Fields
With so much acreage, Pine Lake Ranch has no shortage of fields for our couples to frolic in! So have a spin or pack a picnic. Throughout the year, you will find that there is different foliage on the show. While spring wildflowers and greenery make for lush photos, fall and winter offer dry brush that lends a soft warm ambiance. Regardless of the time of year, one of our many fields is the place to be for dreamy golden-hour portraits!
The Sparkling Lake
A gorgeous backdrop for photographs, our sparkling lake is a dreamy spot for some post-wedding portraits or shots of the wedding party. It even features a sturdy wood dock, often used by our brides and grooms for a first look. Our lake is another beautiful spot for golden-hour portraits when the sun casts an orange glow on the trees in the distance and light bounces off the pristine lake.
Grand Barn Doors
If you want an elegant backdrop for wedding party portraits, look no further than our grand barn doors. In the entryway to our rustic reception barn, these giant wood doors are exceptionally beautiful. It is another great spot for a first look but is ideal for a grand entrance or exit. Our couples often have guests line up outdoors for a final goodbye with sparklers lighting up the night!
String-Lit Corral
If you aren’t up for a frolic in our fields, then consider our String-Lit Corral. This manicured outdoor space is typically used for cocktail hour. But before you open it up to guests, it can also be used for some elegant portraits. Have a kiss leaning against the wood fencing or use the moment to have an intimate slow dance. You can revisit this area at night when the string lights cast a romantic glow for your photos!
