Winter Wedding Ideas That Are Cute & Cozy

While some couples are quick to pass on a winter wedding, Pine Lake Ranch loves this time of year. Hosting a winter wedding ensures a one-of-a-kind festive celebration! In fact, Texas is one of the best places for a winter wedding, with temps ranging between 50 to 72 degrees. Today we’re sharing some of our favorites ideas for a winter wedding that is all things cute and cozy!

Flowers

Although springtime boasts some of the most beautiful blooms, there is something to be said about winter foliage. Unlike other seasons you have a unique option of other inclusions, such as dried lotus pods, pinecones and berries. Trust your florist with your wedding theme and allow them to create a unique arrangement! Here are some of the most popular flowers for a winter wedding:

  • White anemones
  • Blue thistle
  • Amaryllis
  • Roses
  • Orchids
  • Lilies
  • Ranunculus
  • Holly
  • Gardenias
  • Paperwhites (narcissus)
  • Poinsettias

Color Schemes

Winter wedding colors are some of our favorites – and they should be yours too! Come wintertime we start to see colors that are luxurious and rich. Like deep purples, luscious blue hues, and lots of sultry reds. A few of our favorite combos (which you are welcome to steal!):

  • Copper, emerald & white
  • Gray, silver & dusty blue
  • Burgundy, rose gold & moss
  • Sage green, latte & ivory
  • Jewel tones

Decorations

The decor you can feature at winter weddings are some of the most diverse. Simple greenery is a popular choice for drapery and table filler. Candles are an absolute must, to create a warm ambience. For place settings we love using natural elements, such as pinecones or wood slices. Winter wedding decorations are such fun to create. Especially when you consider the unique textures and colors you can include.

Faux Fur & Velvet

Speaking of textures, faux fur and velvet are so on-trend! While brides try to rock these elements year round, they look especially stunning for winter weddings. As far as faux fur, you can keep it as simple as wraps or robes for your bridesmaids. Maybe throw a few cozy rugs into the cocktail area. As for velvet, think of the bridesmaid dresses, lounge furniture and table linens. Most every rental company is bound to have velvet items in-stock.

Bridal Fashion

Winter bridal fashion is always fun and super cozy yet oh so chic. Our favorite statement so far are bridal boots with chunky heels and laces. If you prefer, you can even rock a pointed toe. For the after party, grab a comfy pair of sparkly sneakers. For this time of year we are currently loving wedding gowns with beading and other sparkly embellishments. To top it all off, and stay warm, be sure to grab a faux fur or flannel shawl.

Cocktails

When it comes to winter wedding cocktails your options are endless. There are warm drinks, which are a must-have for cool evening affairs. For example a Hot Toddy, a Kahlua Hot Chocolate, and the always popular Mulled Wine. As far as iced drinks go, the simpler the better.
